Adult Talent Test Panel

The adult film industry encourages frequent STD screenings in order for performers to protect their sexual health.

Performers are asked to undergo frequent mandatory, comprehensive, STD testing to prevent the spread of disease. Performers who test positive for STDs are typically excluded from performing until they have been treated for the infection and retested.

This panel includes the following STD tests:

• HIV
• Syphilis
• Chlamydia
• Gonorrhea

Comprehensive levels of mandatory STD testing vary throughout the adult industry. Syphilis is a common bacterial sexually transmitted disease (STD) that is curable. The Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) blood test checks antibodies against substances released by cells damaged by Syphilis bacteria, rather than antibodies to the actual bacteria.

The FDA-cleared NAAT or Nucleic Acid Amplification Test can look for both the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are co-existing infections, meaning that having one can cause you to be extremely likely to have the other. Both of these STDs are bacterial infections that cause similar symptoms if any at all.
