Amino Acid Profile, Urine Test

Amino acids are organic compounds that play an important role in properly digesting food, creating usable energy, maintaining health and functioning normally. This panel can help discover deficiencies in amino acids by testing for more than 35 amino acids, as well as creatinine.

This test panel is used for diagnosis and monitoring of inherited aminoaciduria (presence of amino acids in the urine), organic acidurias (inherited metabolic disorders), and urea cycle defects. This panel may also be used as a follow-up confirmatory test to some abnormal newborn screen results.
