While HealthLabs.com does not administer hormones of any type, it is important for individuals transitioning from male to female or female to male to closely monitor their health, which is usually done through blood work.
To make this process as easy as possible, we have compiled a list of blood tests that all genders can use to monitor their hormone levels, along with a few other things that are important to watch during this transitional period.

The following tests are featured in the trans-hormone wellness panel:
CBC- A complete blood count can be used to diagnose problems like weakness, fatigue, and inflammation, which can all occur when administering hormones. It can also be useful in evaluating overall health concerns such as anemia, infection, and leukemia.
ALT- The alanine aminotransferase test (ALT) is used to measure an enzyme in the blood, which can be useful in determining liver disease.
BUN/Creatinine Ratio- The BUN/Creatine ratio test is one of the best tests to achieve an understanding of the overall kidney and liver health.
Glucose- The body receives a large amount of its energy from glucose, which is transported using the hormone insulin. Energy levels can be greatly affected when taking hormones during the transition period.
Lipid/Cholesterol - The total cholesterol, LDL “Bad Cholesterol”, HDL “Good cholesterol”, and triglycerides. Determining your lipid-cholesterol levels can determine if you are at risk for developing cardiovascular disease.
Testosterone, Total- It’s important to monitor testosterone levels regularly when in a transition period. We recommend working with a medical professional to learn your goal testosterone levels before testing.
Estrogen, Total- Estrogen is the key hormone in the development of female sexual functions. With a medical professional, determine your goal estrogen levels when in a transition period.
Estradiol- Estradiol is a form of estrogen. It is often responsible for breast development
Prolactin- The prolactin hormone stimulates breast development and enables milk production in women. Abnormally high levels of prolactin may indicate a tumor in the pituitary gland or a pituitary disorder, making it another really important hormone to keep an eye on.
LH (Luteinizing Hormone)- The luteinizing hormone is found in both men and women. It assists in the production of testosterone and the regulation of menstruation.
